A few weeks ago in our PSHE lessons we discussed what makes us happy. Some of us drew pictures of what makes them happy and some of us wrote descriptions. Here are a few examples:

Their bed                                          Their teddies
Their X- box                                      Art
Their pets                                         Being in their garden
Their devices                                    Christmas and birthdays
Their parents                                    Music /singing
Playing with their siblings

In KS2 we drew pictures and wrote descriptions of all of the different things that make us happy. In KS1 each class had circle time and a class discussion on what makes them happy. They then created drawings and different pieces of artwork to show the things that make them happy.

We are excited to post our work to our partner school in Lebanon and to see what things make them happy.

Since we - Coningsby St. Michael's COE Primary School - received our 'International Schools' plaque, we are starting to work towards our 'UNICEF Rights Respecting Award'. Because of our target, we have begun creating questionaires for the students to answer about their time in school and how they would rate them with the  possible answers: Yes; no; sometimes ,and not sure. The questionnaire also asks information on which child right's we already know. We ask our classmates to answer truthfully and it will be anonymous. All classes from Year 3 - Year 6 will be involved in this important survey. The survey will allow use to identify our next steps in learning about children's rights.

This week we have planned our display board and got our very own badge! The display board is going to include what we have been doing and the flags of our partner schools. All of the International Champions are helping with the board so that it is quicker for the school to keep up to date in a few simple sentences. The badge has a silver background with red writing saying "INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONS". We wear these badges with pride around the school and during meetings.
One of our partner schools is located in Lebanon and we are researching places for tourism. There are many places for tourism and everyone is choosing one place to research. Miss Babiczuk (the leader of The International Champions) and Mrs Hodson (Head teacher) met a teacher from our partner school and brought back pictures of their school and some of the children's work.

Welcome to the International Champions' Blog!
Coningsby St. Michael's School is found in Coningsby, Lincolnshire with 330 children and 14 classes. Our school has two classes in each year group from reception all the way up to year 6 with trained teachers. Proudly this educational centre is COE (Church of England) and every term we have a new bible story and church school value. We enjoy this school and our head teacher Mrs Hodson.

The International Champions are all about projects and working with our partner schools overseas and we will update this blog every meeting (Thursday before 16:00) with all of our progress in that week. We will be participating in whole school projects with other schools in our area.
